Your Money Hack

THE RETURN TEST

Stop asking only “What does it cost?”
Start asking “What could it return to my life?”

I used to be really good at saving money.

Especially when it came to spending it on myself.

Dinner with the girls? Too expensive. Gym? I can exercise at home. Holiday? Maybe one day. Coaching or a course? I'll find something free.

None of those decisions were necessarily wrong. But I realised I was measuring only one side of every decision: the cost.

I wasn't measuring what that money could return to my life.

Today I'm still careful with money. I look for value, negotiate, save and invest. But I'll also invest in my health, experiences, relationships, skills, mentorship and business when the return makes sense to me.

Sometimes the answer is still NO. And sometimes I realise that not investing in myself is actually the more expensive decision.

Before you say “I can't afford it” askWHAT COULD THIS RETURN TO ME?
1

NAME IT

What are you considering spending money on? Name the thing and the actual cost. No justification yet.

2

FIND THE RETURN

If you spend this money, what could realistically come back to you?

TIMECould it buy hours of your life back?
HEALTH & ENERGYCould it help you feel or function better?
CONNECTION & LIFECould it create experiences, friendships or memories?
GROWTHCould it build skills, confidence or knowledge?
MONEY & OPPORTUNITYCould it increase your capacity to create income or opportunity?

Change is scary. Staying the same has a cost too.

Think about all the times change was forced upon you unexpectedly, when you were not ready and had no time to prepare.

You found a way through, didn't you?

You already have proof that you are capable of navigating situations life throws at you.

Change can also be growth. It can be the opportunity to step onto another level. A level where some of the problems and insecurities that feel enormous today suddenly seem much smaller.

And sometimes, once you get there, you look back and think:

“Why did I wait so long?”

3

DECIDE

Now that you can see both sides, ask:

“Knowing the cost and the potential return, WHAT is this worth to me, knowing I will stay the same if I don’t take this opportunity, probably for another number of years?”

YES. INVEST.
NO. KEEP IT.

Now I'm curious about yours.

What's ONE thing you've wanted to do, experience, buy or invest in, but keep telling yourself is “too expensive”?

Send me a message and tell me.

I'm not going to convince you to buy it 😂. I'll simply help you look at the other side of the equation and ask: what could it return to your life?

Sometimes another woman asking a different question is enough to see something we've been missing.

This is a reflection tool, not personal financial advice.
